"BLUEPRINT" Advertisements
In my Fundamentals of Advertising class, I was tasked with creating my own brand and making three advertisements for it, each for a different platform that were for a specific, different purpose. My brand was a hair care brand specially for 4c hair that I named "Blueprint."
Advertisement #1
This was my first ad, which is a magazine ad that is two spreads. I wanted to create a unique design to advertise one of the many products my brand sold. So, I went the literal route when it came to the brand's name and created a blueprint, styled ad that broke down the product and showed how it worked, the layout, and design. I felt like this design choice would be appreciated by the my targeted audience, which is Gen Z, as it plays into the uniqueness and creativity this generation loves.

This ad I made for Pinterest, another social media platform popular amongst my target audience. I made it entirely in Photoshop, and wanted to give it a kind of futuristic psychedelic look since that was the vibe and aesthetic of my brand. I also wanted to show male representation with my brand, which is not very common with curly hair brands and their marketing.
Advertisement #3
My final ad I made with the purpose of being an aditorial (ad + editorial). I have experience in journalistic writing, which is why I found this form of advertising very fitting for me and my brand. I also felt like my brand story and purpose, which would be covered in the aditorial, is such an important part of my brand that will make consumers appreciate the brand and the effort I put into it that much more. I made sure to also pay homage to the 90s style of hair and overall fashion and lifestyle as it promoted individuality and creativity with ones appearance, which is what I promote with my brand as well amongst Black youth. This was entirely made using Photoshop.
